Human Systems Architecture™ · HSA™ for Families
Redesign your family dynamics, together.
Families are human systems. HSA™ for Families is structured, non-clinical, mediation-informed support that helps you ease conflict, communicate better, and consciously co-create the family dynamics you need and want.
The challenge families face
Families operate under sustained pressure.
When stress, change, or complexity enters the system, patterns emerge, often without anyone intending them. Most families try to solve these challenges through conversation alone, but without a shared way to see the patterns, the system keeps repeating itself.
Major life transitions
Relocation, illness, aging parents, or a blended family reshape the whole system.
Competing roles & expectations
Overlapping responsibilities leave everyone stretched and unclear on who holds what.
Communication breakdowns repeat
The same misunderstandings return despite good intentions and real effort.
Decision fatigue & tension
Unresolved friction builds, and choices that should be simple become draining.
High investment, little structure
Everyone cares deeply, yet the family has no shared way to work through it together.
Conflict without repair
Disagreements flare and linger, with no reliable path back to connection.
These challenges are rarely about one person. They are signals from a system under pressure.
The frame
Families are human systems.
The focus is not on blame or diagnosis. It is on how the system functions, and how it can function better.
HSA™ for Families treats your family as a living system of whole people interacting under real conditions. As with couples and teams, the family is the client: we work at the system level while supporting each individual. The focus is on how you communicate, decide, and repair, not on pathologizing any one member. Our mediation-informed approach helps you move through conflict toward shared, workable agreements.
Whether you know it as family coaching, family mediation, family advisory, or family relationship coaching, Human Systems Architecture™ for Families gives you one structured, evidence-informed way to see the patterns and rebuild the dynamics you want.
- Facilitative, not directive, and always non-clinical
- Neutral, structured, and balanced across every member
- Rooted in family-mediation principles for conflict and repair
- Focused on agreements the whole family can actually live by
Partner with your family to redesign the dynamics you need and want.

See the pattern
Surface the recurring cycles in communication and decision-making, so they become visible and changeable, not just isolated conflicts.

Validated assessments
The Holistogram™ aggregate report and the DPI Team Report give the family a neutral, structured mirror at the system level, baseline and delta.

The Agile Wellness Method
Inspect, Adapt, Improve. Small, reassessed shifts compound into durable change in how your family functions.

Support between sessions
Your AI coaching copilot keeps agreements, skills, and practices alive between sessions in the HWH® platform.
What HSA™ brings to families
From reaction to understanding.
Using structured frameworks, validated assessments, and personalized interventions, families learn to work with the system itself, not against each other. The focus is not on blame or diagnosis, but on how the system functions, and how it can function better.
Sustainable improvements that build over time.
- A shared language for what is happening in the system
- Visibility into recurring patterns, not just isolated conflicts
- Clearer roles, expectations, and boundaries
- Better decision-making during change or stress
- Coping, conflict-resolution, and communication tools
- Skills to increase respect, appreciation, and repair
- Sustainable improvements that build over time
- Greater resilience and trust across the whole family
How HSA™ works for families
Understand the system, make sense of it together, and learn over time.
HSA™ for Families is designed as a learning process, not a one-time intervention.
Understand the family system
Explore how the system operates across communication and interaction patterns, decision-making dynamics, stress and capacity distribution, roles, responsibility and authority, and alignment on shared goals and values. A neutral, structured picture, without pathologizing anyone.
Guided sensemaking & support
A trained, mediation-informed HWH® practitioner helps the family interpret patterns together, identify leverage points, practice new ways of communicating and deciding, and build shared agreements that reduce friction. Facilitative, not directive.
Learning over time
Using the Agile Wellness™ Inspect, Adapt, Improve cycle, the family notices what is working and what is not, adjusts behaviors and agreements, and builds resilience and trust over time.

How it works
The Agile Wellness™ Cycle
Change becomes something the family can navigate together, not something imposed. The HWH® method turns insight into small, repeatable shifts.
- 1InspectA validated HWH® assessment, the Holistogram™ aggregate report and the DPI Team Report, gives an honest baseline of how the family works today.
- 2AdaptGuided by a mediation-informed, HWH®-certified practitioner, with eCourses, the AI copilot, and targeted skills, the family applies small, deliberate shifts.
- 3ImproveA retake reveals measurable change, the delta, so the family can see progress and focus the next cycle together.
↻ Repeat, small shifts create lasting change, one Agile Wellness™ cycle at a time.
Co-create your dynamics
Redesign how your family works, with structure and intention.
HSA™ partners with your family to consciously redesign the dynamics you need and want, building the coping, conflict-resolution, and communication skills that make change stick.
Clearer roles & boundaries
Name who holds what, so expectations are shared instead of assumed.
Respect & appreciation
Practice skills that increase understanding and reduce recurring friction.
Conflict resolution
Work through differences with mediation-informed tools, toward workable agreements.
Better shared decisions
Make choices together during change and stress, without escalation.
Communication that lands
Listen and be heard across generations and roles, even under pressure.
Resilience over time
Build trust and repair faster, so the family adapts together through change.
Clear boundaries

A neutral, structured picture
What we look at together, without pathologizing anyone.
Families begin by developing a shared view of how the system operates across five areas. We use the Holistogram™ aggregate report to see the health of the family as a whole and the DPI Team Report to surface system patterns, while working with each individual. There is no separate family assessment: the family is the client.
Communication & interaction
How members speak, hear, and stay in contact under everyday load.
Conflict & repair
How disagreements start, escalate or de-escalate, and how you reconnect.
Decision-making dynamics
How choices get made and how responsibility and authority are held.
Stress & capacity
How pressure and emotional load are distributed across the family.
Roles & alignment
How aligned you are around roles, shared goals, and values.

The platform
Every insight lives on one dashboard.
The whole journey runs in the HWH® app. The family sees a live Agile Wellness™ Dashboard on the web and in your pocket, tracking family health, shared goals, and progress across the Human Systems Architecture™ framework, from any device.
Family health at a glance
Family Health and Sustainability scores, active goals, and coaching sessions, tracked live as you go.
SMART goals & progress
Shared goals from intention to practice, with starting point, current status, and target visible to the family.
See what’s changing
Reports and key learning insights show your progress across the framework over time.
The HWH® toolkit
Everything included: assessments, eCourses, skills, and the app.
There is no separate family tier or family-specific assessment. Instead, HSA™ for Families applies the proven HWH® toolkit at the system level: the Holistogram™ aggregate report for family health, the DPI Team Report for patterns, and individual work, all in the HWH® app between sessions.

Questions
Common questions.
What is HSA™ for Families?
HSA™ for Families is Happy Whole Human’s structured, non-clinical, mediation-informed support for families, built on Human Systems Architecture. It helps families understand how their family system functions, ease conflict and communication breakdowns, address recurring patterns, and consciously redesign the dynamics they want, using validated assessments, guided sensemaking, and the Agile Wellness cycle. It is not therapy.
Is this therapy or counseling?
No. HSA™ for Families is non-clinical coaching, education, and consultation, and is not therapy, counseling, diagnosis, treatment, or crisis intervention, and it is not a replacement for mental health care when needed. HWH® practitioners work within a clearly defined scope of practice and refer out when appropriate.
Who is it for?
Families navigating major life transitions, ongoing communication or alignment challenges, blended or multigenerational dynamics, caregiving or role shifts, and high-functioning families under sustained stress who want greater clarity, alignment, and sustainability.
How does it work?
Your family develops a shared, neutral picture of how the system operates, makes sense of the patterns together with a trained, mediation-informed practitioner, and practices new ways of communicating and deciding, then keeps improving using the Inspect, Adapt, Improve cycle over time.
What will we actually do?
Take validated HWH® assessments, interpret them together without blame, learn and practice conflict-resolution and communication skills, create shared agreements that reduce friction, and practice in real life, supported between sessions by resources and the AI copilot in the HWH® app.
Is this mediation-informed?
Yes. Dr. Lisa Leit is an Advanced Family Mediator trained at the UT School of Law, and the framework draws on mediation principles to help families move through conflict toward shared, workable agreements, while remaining non-clinical and facilitative, not directive.
Are sessions online or in person?
